Buy Habitat
Buy Habitat is an extension of The Habitat Trust. BuyHabitat is here to provide YOU with the opportunity to donate directly to the type of habitat that you would like the Trust to acquire for conservation purposes. You also have the opportunity to choose whether or not you would like your donation to contribute to Nature Sanctuary Management or Organizational Administrative Costs and Legal Defense. Please be aware that your monetary donation of any size is tax-deductible when made payable to:
The Habitat Trust for Wildlife
439 Westwood SC #144
Fayetteville, NC 28314
Your donation contributes towards our conservation work in Giving Nature Sanctuary. All habitat lands donated to, or acquired by, The Habitat Trust are deeded in fee title to the organization. Therefore, by making a monetary donation you do not have any ownership or such responsibilities regarding stewardship. To make it as simple as possible for anyone to contribute to protecting vital habitats — now is as good a time as any – BuyHabitat has provided you with the ability to Donate by credit card. Just fill out the form.
If you prefer to donate by personal or business check, please review our Ways of Giving Offline web page and mail your check to the Trust's address above. Together, little by little, we can make a big difference for the wild Earth and all species. Thank you from all of us at The Habitat Trust!

Gifts of Stock
Take stock in the protection of America's Natural Heritage by giving stocks, bonds, and mutual fund shares to the Habitat Trust. Your gift of stock will help us create and manage Nature Sanctuaries.
If you own securities which have increased in value since they were purchased (at least 12 months ago), you may be able to completely avoid capital gains tax this year by contributing the securities instead of cash. You'll receive a charitable income tax deduction for the full market value of the asset, and you'll avoid capital gains tax on the appreciation of the securities. Sound too good to be true? It's not!
For more information about matching gifts, please contact our Executive Director, Leeona Klippstein (910) 947-5091
Bequest Gifts
By including The Habitat Trust as a beneficiary in your will or living trust, you are supporting our important creation and management of Nature Sanctuaries from the sweet hereafter (and possibly receive tax benefits in the "here!") Your donation will give you entry into the American Heritage Fellowship, a group of special supporters who offer their vision and commitment to the future of The Habitat Trust and our Nature Sanctuaries. In some cases, depending on the amount of the will or living trust, a Nature Sanctuary can be created and named after the departed person. In this way the departed one lives on in a Nature Sanctuary Memorial.
You may choose from a variety of giving options within our planned giving program that will allow you to express your concern for the America's Natural Heritage well into the next century. Whether you wish to leave us your real property or name us in your life insurance policy, your bequest gift will help ensure the continued strength and precision of our efforts in Giving Nature Sanctuary.
With any donation, we recommend that you consult your attorney or tax advisor on issues regarding your will or trust, and for advice about the most appropriate bequest vehicle for you. If you already know your situation and want to put us in your will today, we would like to offer you some helpful information below.

If you are considering a bequest of land to be preserved in its natural state as a Nature Sanctuary, we ask that you notify us in advance, so that we may determine whether we will be able to manage the property in a manner consistent with your wishes.
